Happy International Women's Day
March 8th marks International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women around the world and advocating for gender equality. In the Python Podcast community, as we have previously reported, women are underrepresented, and yet they continue to make meaningful contributions to the Python community.
Join us in recognizing them by celebrating and acknowledging their work and contributions. Here are some of the ways you can do:
Listen and subscribe to our Podcast series
The goal of our podcast series is to highlight the voices of the underrepresented group members in the Python community. Listen to our episodes to learn about why we’re doing this, and to learn about the various guest speakers we have interviewed and scheduled in the coming months.
Subscribe to our podcast series through the Python Software Foundation’s YouTube Channel, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcast, and our RSS Feed.
They are also available on our website through the “Episodes” tab.
- Episode 0, Introducing the Hidden Figures of Python Podcast Series
- Episode 1 with Joanna Jablonski
- Episode 2 with Karolina Ladino (full episode is scheduled for March 13)
We have a few more speakers lined up! Stay tuned to hear about our upcoming guest speakers like Vicky Twomey-Lee and Jessica Tegner.
Follow women on social media
Follow our guest speakers and other women in the Python community on social media. Learn more about what they’re up to, and amplify their voice by engaging and sharing their achievements.
Show your appreciation
Take a moment to appreciate the women in the Python and open source community who inspire you. Whether it’s a colleague, mentor, or someone whose work you admire, let them know that their efforts are valued and recognized.
